Hot Dip Galvanized Steel

  • Material is specified as ASTM 572, galvanized.
  • Galvanizing to be done in accordance with ASTM A-123.
  • Corrosion protection process by which entire truss and components are submerged into galvanizing kettles.
  • Galvanizing is not a coating like paint, but actually becomes part of the steel.
  • Additional paint systems may be applied after galvanizing.  This process is known as a duplex system.

Weathering Steel

  • ASTM designation of A588
  • In the proper climates and applications, this material provides its own corrosion protection.
  • Requires no painting or maintenance.
  • Specified for its aesthetic properties.
  • Non-invasive appearance blends well with rural or natural settings such as parks

Painted Steel

  • State specified / approved paint systems can be applied to our trusses.
  • Contech has received a “Sophisticated Paint Endorsement” from the AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction).

Independent Rail System

  • Rail system that is not attached to truss members. Normally attached to exterior stringers or curb.
  • Designed to provide extra distance from the truss in the event of an accident.
  • Any number of rail systems can be specified and designed including W-Beam, Thrie Beam, tubular and a concrete Jersey barriers.
  • Typically more expensive than truss mounted rail.

Truss Mounted Rail System

  • Rail system that is attached directly to truss members.
  • Any number of rail systems can be specified and designed including W-Beam, Thrie Beam and tubular.
  • Reduces the overall width of the truss structure.
  • Typically, less expensive than an Independent Rail System.

The Colonial Truss

The proven Colonial style Warren Truss is an all-bolted or welded superstructure engineered for clear spans of up to 200 ft. long. Designed with a polygonal top chord, two diagonal members in each truss panel, and a vertical member at each interior bottom chord panel point, the Colonial style truss is ideal for most river, rail and road applications. Multi lane and sidewalk options available. Unique to Steadfast, our bridges can be designed with the bottom (tension) chord of each truss that consists of two equal members (a double bottom chord) to provide redundancy to the structure. Numerous flooring options available.

The Colonial Flat Truss

Similar in design to the Colonial, the Colonial Flat style Warren truss can be either an all-bolted or welded superstructure that has a horizontal, flat top chord, two diagonal members in each truss panel, and a vertical member at each interior bottom chord panel point. Like the Colonial, the bottom (tension) chord of each truss can be designed with two equal members (a double bottom chord) to provide redundancy. Multi lane and sidewalk options available. Numerous flooring options available.

The Capstone Truss

The Capstone Pratt truss design can be an all-bolted or an all-welded structure with a continuous arched top chord, a single diagonal member in each truss panel, vertical end posts, and a vertical member at each interior bottom chord panel point. Similar to most of our vehicular bridges, the bottom (tension) chord of each truss can be designed with two equal members to provide redundancy to the superstructure. Numerous flooring options available.

The Keystone Truss

Based on a Pratt truss design, the Keystone is an all-welded superstructure that features an aesthetically pleasing, continuous arched top chord along with a single diagonal member in each truss panel, and a vertical member at each interior bottom chord panel point. In a vehicular application, the Keystone style truss, the bottom (tension) chord of each truss will consist of two equal members of adequate size to provide redundancy to the superstructure. Numerous flooring options available.

Our vehicular bridges have been installed in shopping centers, malls, hotels, residential developments, corporate facilities, golf courses, parks and recreational facilities across America. Customers include architects, engineers, contractors, developers, homeowners along with State and local governments. For those applications where site constraints are of a concern, regulatory requirements are interfering with site plans or an added architectural element is desired, our line of vehicular bridge products can meet your needs.

Benefits of the Steadfast Bridges® Vehicular Truss Structures:

  • Site-Specific Designs – Steadfast structures can be designed in full compliance with AASHTO LRFD and other state or local vehicular design codes.
  • Span Capabilities – Steadfast vehicular truss bridges can clear span up to 250’ to reduce site impacts and regulatory/permit requirements instead of designing a multi-span structure.
  • Site Restrictions – Many of the Steadfast structures can be designed to accommodate minimum top of deck to low steel requirements, which can be beneficial when working with existing grades or hydraulic issues.
  • Options to Suit - Get the look and functionality that you need and want – our manufacturing flexibility at the plant can accommodate special customer requests.
  • Support - On-site installation assistance from experienced installers.
  • Experience - We have registered PEs in every state and 45 years of experience to help with regulations and codes on even the most challenging projects.
  • Quality - We maintain the highest level of manufacturing certifications in the industry – making sure that the job is done right the first time.
